This version has been patched to work on any version of XP.
Follow the instructions below. This is not recommended for n00bs!

1) Extract the mediactr.rar file to
C:Windowsehome

*NOTE*: All the files must be at the base of ehome (ehomeehshell.exe)

2) Extract the bin.rar file to C:Windowssystem32

3) Install dotnetfx.exe

4) Right click on My Computer then click Properties, the Advanced tab and then click Environmental Variables

5) Click on Path and then Edit

6) Enter the following text to the end of the Variable value:

;C:WINDOWSMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.40607

7) Then click Start then Run and type cmd

8) In cmd type: cd

9) Then type: cd windowsehome

10) Then type: sn -Vl

If you are greeted with the message "No verification entries registered" then carry on. Otherwise do not carry on and you have fucked it up!

11) Then type: sn -Vr *

If you are greeted with the message "Verification entry added for assembly '*,*'" then carry on. Otherwise do not carry on and you have fucked it up!

12) Then copy and paste the following commands:

ngen /silent /nologo ehiwmp.dll
ngen /silent /nologo ehiExtens.dll
ngen /silent /nologo ehRecObj.dll
ngen /silent /nologo ehCIR.dll
ngen /silent /nologo ehepgdat.dll
ngen /silent /nologo ehiEPG.dll
ngen /silent /nologo ehiPlay.dll
ngen /silent /nologo ehiProxy.dll
ngen /silent /nologo ehiTuner.dll
ngen /silent /nologo ehiuserxp.dll
ngen /silent /nologo ehiVidCtl.dll
ngen /silent /nologo ehepg.dll
ngen /silent /nologo EhCM.dll
ngen /silent /nologo ehcommon.dll
ngen /silent /nologo bdatunepia.dll

13) Then copy and paste these instructions:

regasm ehRecObj.dll
regasm ehCIR.dll
regasm ehepgdat.dll
regasm ehepg.dll

14) And then copy and paste these:

regsvr32 /s sbe.dll
regsvr32 /s quartz.dll
regsvr32 /s encdec.dll
regsvr32 /s VBICodec.ax
regsvr32 /s WSTPager.ax
regsvr32 /s WSTRenderer.ax
regsvr32 /s Mpeg2Data.ax
regsvr32 /s msvidctl.dll
regsvr32 /s bdaplgin.ax
regsvr32 /s msdvbnp.ax
regsvr32 /s PsisDecd.dll
regsvr32 /s Psisrndr.ax
regsvr32 /s qdvd.dll

15) Press enter when at the end

You should now have Media Center Editon 2005 RC0 isntalled.

To run it open C:Windowsehomeehshell.exe

Do not worry about any errors in the initial setup. Ignore them.
