很快，Google助理将对某些短语作出回应，而不需要你说"嘿，Google"这样的唤醒短语。XDA-Developers报道，"快速短语"现在正在向运行Android 12 Beta的Google Pixel 3 XL推出。目前还不知道Android 12系统是否是快速短语的一个要求。
Google应用程序升级到12.39.17.29版本后，快速短语需要从Google助理的设置中激活。一旦启用，Google助理将根据上下文听取某些短语。例如，如果闹钟响了，助理会听用户说"Stop"或"Snooze"，而不要求用户说"Hey Google"。一个来电可以通过说"Answer"来接听，或通过说"Decline"来拒绝。
早在9月，9to5Google曾发布一份命令清单，并认为是这些是未来的快速短语。它包括诸如"取消闹钟"、"发送广播"、"天气如何？"、"调高音量"和"暂停音乐"等内容：
Set alarms: “Set an alarm for 7 a.m.”
Cancel alarms: “Cancel the alarm”
Show alarms: “What time is my alarm set for?”
Send broadcasts: “Send a broadcast”
Respond to calls: “Answer” & “Decline”
